Alan Rodriguez Rios, MS Candidate
Alan (he/him/his) holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from American Public University and will graduate this fall with a master’s degree in Positive Psychology & Life Coaching from Life University. He is currently working toward his PCC certification from the International Coaching Federation and plans to begin a second master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University this fall.
For nearly a decade, Alan has tutored middle and high school students, with formal experience at Jacob’s Ladder School, where he served as a neurodevelopmental provider for neurodiverse learners ages 3–22. There, he supported younger students with academic growth and helped older students develop job readiness and independent living skills through individualized, needs-based daily routines.
Alan’s lifelong passion for self-development, psychology, and emotional intelligence fuels his work. He draws on approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, motivational interviewing, appreciative inquiry, and solution-focused therapy. Known for his deep empathy, curiosity, and grounded presence, Alan focuses on helping clients uncover their values, harness their strengths, and cultivate resourcefulness to lead lives of authenticity and autonomy.
He was drawn to Wonder’s holistic, relational approach—meeting clients in environments where they feel most comfortable, whether that’s hiking, over coffee, or playing sports—because it fosters genuine connection and growth beyond the traditional office setting.
Outside of his work, Alan enjoys reading philosophy and Eastern spirituality, working out, playing and watching soccer, traveling, and spending time with his sphynx cats, Dingus and Beerus. He is also an active volunteer with Mercy for Animals. Some of his favorite things include tea, plant-based foods, anime, horror movies, and slow Sunday mornings. Alan is committed to providing each client with care, attention, and detail—believing that flourishing is a collective process and feeling honored to support lasting change in the families he works with.
