Anjali Badrinath, LAC

Anjali (she/her) is a Licensed Associate Counselor with an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey. She has extensive experience supporting teens, young adults, parents, and family systems in both nonprofit and private practice settings. Early in her career at Millhill Child and Family Development’s Outpatient Clinic, she developed a strong foundation in Bowen Family Systems theory, which continues to shape her work in understanding the interconnected needs of youth and their families. Over the years, she has focused on integrating parents into the therapeutic process, recognizing the profound impact that parent-child relationships and family dynamics have on mental health and overall well-being.

Anjali brings an integrative approach to her work, drawing on CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and family systems interventions to support clients in developing resilience and growth. She is deeply committed to helping individuals and families understand how cultural, generational, and societal pressures shape parenting, identity formation, and emotional development. Her personal and professional experiences have fostered a strong interest in supporting immigrant families, youth navigating identity development, and those facing discrimination or systemic barriers.

Currently pursuing her doctoral studies at Montclair State University, Anjali is passionate about bridging gaps in the counseling field by incorporating more inclusive and culturally responsive perspectives. She values Wonder’s collaborative, family-systems approach and is dedicated to creating safe, non-judgmental spaces where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to navigate challenges together.

Outside of her clinical work, Anjali finds joy and balance through dance—an art form she has practiced for over 20 years—and enjoys spending time with her younger sister, watching movies, and embracing opportunities for creativity and connection. She reassures families that she approaches each relationship with empathy, curiosity, and openness, working at a pace that builds trust and honors the unique experiences of each individual and family.
