Ashana Ross

Ashana (she/her) is a coach with a background in youth mentorship, social-emotional learning, mindfulness, and somatic practices. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from The Evergreen State College, where she studied sociology and multicultural studies with a minor in visual arts, and holds a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification. She has supported middle and high school students in educational settings, helping young people strengthen emotional regulation, social awareness, self-confidence, and self-advocacy. She has also facilitated support groups for LGBTQIA+ high school students and works extensively with neurodivergent teens and young adults in her coaching practice.

Ashana’s own experiences as a neurodivergent young person deeply inform her work. After struggling with her mental health throughout adolescence, receiving an autism diagnosis became an important turning point in understanding herself and learning how to honor her individual needs. Her journey toward greater self-understanding and acceptance inspired her to help other young people build confidence in who they are, challenge ideas of what it means to be “normal,” and recognize the strengths and wisdom they already carry within themselves.

Her approach combines social-emotional learning, somatic practices, mindfulness, and creative expression. Depending on the client, sessions may incorporate grounding and breathing exercises, guided meditation, yoga, or art. Ashana recognizes that finding the right words can sometimes be difficult, so she enjoys offering clients different ways to explore and express what they are experiencing. At the center of her work are compassion, curiosity, and connection, with particular interests in neurodivergence, somatic coaching, and supporting LGBTQIA+ young people.

Ashana was drawn to Wonder’s relationship-based approach because it allows her to meet young people where they are and build meaningful connections outside the limitations of a traditional office setting. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she feels especially connected to supporting young people in her hometown. Outside of work, Ashana is passionate about community advocacy and creating inclusive, accessible spaces. She loves hiking, camping, rock climbing, yoga, and spending time outdoors—and at home, she enjoys nightly snuggles with her cat, Aurora.
