Ben Grandis, NBC-HWC
Ben (he/him) is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) whose practice is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s unique story. He holds a Master’s in Integrative Health Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Swarthmore College, and certificates in Wellness Counseling, Patient Navigation, and Guided Imagery
With over a decade of professional experience spanning career advising, HR, recruiting, and customer support, Ben currently serves as a Career Advisor at CIIS, where he supports students across different life stages: from recent college grads to career-changers in later adulthood. No matter where they are in life, Ben partners with clients to clarify their career goals, align their personal values, and take actionable steps toward living fulfilling and authentic lives both personally and professionally.
Ben was drawn to this work by his own lifelong relationship with therapy and healing, influenced early on by his grandmother, an art therapist. His decision to transition from working in tech towards coaching was driven by his desire to help others navigate the complexities of their own journey with peace and clarity. He believes in the transformative power of integrating coaching and therapy, and is especially inspired by Wonder’s whole-family approach to well-being.
Ben’s approach blends storytelling, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative coaching, and motivational interviewing. He leads with playful wisdom, nonjudgmental enthusiasm, and a belief that clients are the experts of their own lives. A proud member of the queer community, Ben offers affirming support to LGBTQ+ youth and has led workplace DEI efforts focused on identity and belonging.
Outside of work, Ben finds joy in yoga, hiking, meditation, live music, experimental art, and story-rich video games. He’s also a professional tarot reader, an avid sushi lover, a dedicated cat dad to Odysseus and Kubo, and a passionate world traveler.
