Caitlin Rainey, LPCC
Caitlin Rainey earned her Master of Arts in Sport & Performance Psychology from the University of Denver and recently completed the requirements for licensure as a Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) while also pursuing her Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential. During her graduate training, she worked in a rural therapy clinic supporting clients across the lifespan, gaining experience with children, teens, adults, and families. She also operates a private practice focused on mental performance, working closely with young athletes and their families.
Caitlin's passion for mental health grew from her interest in performance psychology and the connection between emotional well-being and success in the areas of life that matter most. She believes every client deserves a supportive, nonjudgmental space to navigate challenges related to identity, relationships, stress, and personal growth. Her approach is strengths-based and client-centered, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, family systems concepts, and performance psychology techniques such as goal setting, visualization, and positive self-talk. She tailors her work to each client's unique developmental stage, goals, and strengths.
Caitlin especially enjoys supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity development, family relationship challenges, and performance-related stress in athletics, academics, and other high-pressure environments. She is known for her warm, grounded presence and genuine curiosity, helping clients feel understood while developing practical skills they can carry into school, relationships, sports, and everyday life.
Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hiking with her camera in hand, and is an avid sports fan who loves attending games whenever she can. She also enjoys concerts, movies, and spending time with friends. Caitlin is committed to continually growing as a clinician and considers it a privilege to support young people and families as they build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move toward the lives they want to create.
