Danszale Lahmon, MA

Danszale (she/her) brings a thoughtful, trauma-informed approach to supporting adolescents, young adults, and their families. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology with minors in African Studies and Communication, along with graduate training in Social Emotional Learning and Process Social Work. Her professional certifications include Mental Health First Aid, Restorative Justice Practitioner training, Cultural & Generational Trauma training, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and experience using youth assessment tools such as YASI and SDQ.

Much of Danszale’s work has centered on supporting youth and families in community-based and school-linked settings. She has worked closely with teens navigating trauma, housing instability, and juvenile justice involvement, providing both clinical support and case management. Her work often involves helping youth address behavioral health challenges, school disengagement, and family conflict while partnering with caregivers to strengthen communication and rebuild trust. She approaches this work through a culturally responsive and trauma-informed lens, recognizing the broader systems that shape family experiences.

Danszale was drawn to Wonder’s commitment to reimagining how children and families access high-quality mental health support. The organization’s emphasis on collaborative care, measurable outcomes, and early intervention aligns strongly with her belief that meaningful change happens when youth and caregivers feel empowered and supported together.

In her work, Danszale integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and humanistic techniques to help young people build coping skills and move toward meaningful goals. Known for her authentic, compassionate, and intuitive style, she prioritizes understanding each person beyond labels or circumstances.

Outside of work, Danszale enjoys reading, pottery, arts and crafts, and journaling. She is also a proud “professional aunt” to five nieces and nephews and loves spending time with her 7-year-old teacup Yorkie, Kholee—who she jokes is about the size of a Croc. She also values rest and believes it is something everyone deserves.
