Dario Hadzovic, LPC

Dario (he/him) holds a B.A. in Psychology from Kent State University and an M.A. in Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Dario is passionate about supporting young people in their mental health journeys. Inspired by his high school basketball coach, who also served as a school counselor and special education teacher, Dario values the impact of mentorship and guidance. Today, he works as a school counselor, providing emotional support and coaching basketball to inspire the next generation.

Dario’s work with Wonder has allowed him to expand his skill set, integrating collaborative approaches between individual and family coaches. He appreciates how Wonder’s model empowers families with tools and insights to enhance their functioning. His therapeutic approach blends modalities, including psychodynamic, family therapy, CBT, and increasingly, existential interventions. Always calm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic, Dario is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for clients.

Dario begins his work by identifying clients’ strengths and building upon them to establish a therapeutic relationship. He has extensive experience supporting clients through challenges such as intense anxiety, major depression, and grief and loss. For instance, he recently guided a young person through the loss of a family member to cancer, drawing on his own experiences with loss to offer empathy and practical tools. Dario also uses outdoor therapy, such as nature walks, to help clients break out of isolation, connect with the world around them, and enjoy the benefits of fresh air and exercise.

Outside of his professional life, Dario leads an active lifestyle. He enjoys biking, playing tennis, skiing, and traveling with his girlfriend. Recent adventures have included trips to Yellowstone, Montana, Wyoming, and soon, Chile and Argentina. A dedicated basketball enthusiast, he coaches middle school boys’ basketball and still finds time to hit the court himself. Dario has also recently taken up woodworking, having built a farmhouse-style dining bench, and looks forward to crafting more furniture. Above all, Dario cherishes time spent with family, especially his cousins from New Jersey.
