Diana Marcano, MSW
Diana (She/Her) is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at Touro University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law Studies from Lehman College (CUNY). With more than a decade of experience in social services, foster care, compliance, and case management, Diana has dedicated her career to supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families through compassionate, relationship-centered care.
Throughout her career, Diana has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Associate Regional Director with Compass Connections, where she oversees compliance, case management operations, and staff supervision. She has also worked extensively with unaccompanied minors, foster families, biological families, kinship caregivers, and blended families, helping families navigate complex challenges while promoting safety, stability, and successful reunification. In addition, Diana provided parent support through Anacaona Counseling during her internship, where she worked with caregivers of children with developmental, behavioral, and other unique needs while facilitating parent support groups that foster connection, education, and encouragement. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Diana's approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and rooted in a person-in-environment perspective. She believes that every individual possesses resilience and the ability to grow, and she recognizes the important role that family relationships, community, and broader systems play in shaping each person's experiences. She strives to create a safe, welcoming environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they work toward meaningful goals.
She is especially passionate about supporting families by strengthening communication, building healthy relationships, and helping parents recognize their own strengths. Drawn to Wonder's family-systems approach, Diana values caring for the whole family rather than focusing solely on the individual. She believes lasting change happens when families are supported together and appreciates Wonder's commitment to meeting neurodivergent individuals and families with compassion, understanding, and respect.
Outside of work, Diana enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, exercising, and being outdoors—whether hiking, running, walking, or relaxing near the ocean. As a proud Dominican woman, she values community, meaningful relationships, and celebrating her culture through music, dancing, and food. She also loves discovering new cuisines, spending time in nature, and finding any excuse to enjoy sunshine, the beach, and her favorite color: pink.
Above all, Diana is deeply committed to helping individuals and families feel supported, understood, and empowered. She approaches every relationship with compassion, dignity, and genuine care, believing that meaningful healing begins when people feel truly seen and valued.
