Ferris Bruton, MS, CAMS-II, CSCS

Ferris is an experienced School Psychologist with over six years of supporting children and teens with emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. He holds a Master of Science in School Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, along with certifications in anger management, strength and conditioning, and pupil personnel services. His expertise includes comprehensive psycho-educational assessments, individual and group counseling using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and collaborating with families to support their child’s growth and success.

Beyond the school setting, Ferris has worked as a Residential Counselor Specialist, providing crisis support for young adults, and as a youth fitness coach, promoting the connection between physical and mental well-being. His volunteer work at Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC, where he supported children coping with grief and traumatic loss, reflects his deep commitment to helping young people build resilience. Through these diverse experiences, he has developed a compassionate, solution-focused approach that empowers youth and families to navigate challenges with confidence.

Ferris was drawn to Wonder by the opportunity to support young people and their families in maximizing strengths and achieving personal goals. He specializes in school-based counseling, using CBT and Solution-Focused Therapy to help individuals develop emotional regulation, coping skills, and problem-solving abilities. His approach is non-judgmental and strengths-based, meeting youth where they are and helping them build self-advocacy, confidence, and resilience.

With expertise in anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, and trauma, Ferris is passionate about helping children and teens recognize that every experience—whether easy or difficult—can lead to growth. As a coach, he guides young people in setting realistic goals, managing emotions, and developing skills for success.

Originally from the East Coast, Ferris is a lifelong learner who enjoys attending educational workshops and conferences. In his free time, he loves music, exercising, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he also coaches group fitness classes, reinforcing his belief in the connection between physical and mental wellness. His holistic approach ensures that every young person he works with feels heard, valued, and capable of meaningful progress.
