Heather House, LAPC

Heather (she/her) holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC). She has completed Gottman Couples Therapy Level One training and maintains CPR and First Aid certification through the American Red Cross. Heather completed her clinical internship at The Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders, supporting teens, young adults, and families through evidence-based, compassionate care. She has also worked at Revelare Recovery and currently practices at Thriveworks, where she continues to support adolescents, young adults, and parents navigating complex mental health, relational, and life-transition challenges.

In addition to her clinical work, Heather brings the lived perspective of a parent of three children—two young adults and a college freshman—who are thriving. Having supported her children through private and public school settings, adolescence, and the transition into early adulthood, she has firsthand insight into the academic pressures, performance expectations, and emotional challenges many families face. This experience informs her work with both parents and young people, allowing her to approach families with empathy, humility, and a deep respect for the complexity of this stage of life.

Heather’s approach is grounded in practical, skills-based, and relational frameworks that support emotional regulation, communication, and meaningful growth. She commonly draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based practices. She tailors her work to each individual and family, meeting clients where they are and offering tools that feel accessible, supportive, and sustainable over time.

Heather was drawn to Wonder for its whole-family, systems-oriented model and its emphasis on connection, collaboration, and meeting families where they are. She is especially passionate about supporting teens, young adults, and families who want to live in alignment with their values and build more connected, authentic lives. Heather brings warmth, curiosity, humor, and compassion to her work, creating a judgment-free space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported as they move toward healing, resilience, and meaningful change.
