Kayvon Afsarifard, MFT

Kayvon grew up an athlete in the Midwest until he moved out to the West coast to finish his education. While Kayvon competed at the highest level as a Division I college soccer player, he followed his passion for helping others learn to maximize their potential in life. Kayvon finished his masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University. He has experience utilizing DBT; mindfulness-based skills to help people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.

Kayvon is currently enrolled in a doctoral program for clinical psychology and enjoys working with adolescents and their families to create meaningful interactions based on trust and respect. He has worked with people who experience a broad range of emotional problems including anxiety and depression.

His clinical experience has been with substance use disorder clients at both the residential and outpatient levels of care. Kayvon recently spent the last year working with children and families in the Oakland area as a mental health clinician at Brighter-Beginnings. Kayvon knows the best methods for creating the connection and motivation necessary to generate lasting changes in people’s psychology.
