Keira Hanley, MSW

Keira (she/her) is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver, where she specialized in Children & Youth and earned a School Social Work certificate. Her career has been dedicated to supporting young people as a Special Education School Social Worker, where she advocates for students’ social-emotional wellness and academic success. Keira’s passion for mental health stems from her lifelong interest in understanding how the mind works and how mental health influences every aspect of life.

Witnessing the challenges faced by those around her, Keira saw how stigma and a lack of support for mental health impacted individuals and their loved ones. This inspired her to pursue a career where she could be a compassionate advocate for breaking down these barriers. Keira is passionate about empowering young people to recognize their strengths, understand their challenges, and grow into their most fulfilling lives. Her work is driven by a deep desire to provide meaningful, empathetic support through therapy, resource connection, and advocacy.

Keira’s therapeutic approach combines various evidence-based modalities, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Therapy, Social Skills Training, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. She tailors her methods to the unique strengths and needs of each client, focusing on creating a safe, supportive space. Her experience spans working with children, adolescents, and teens facing ADHD, Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Anxiety, and Trauma. Keira’s ability to connect through empathy, active listening, and compassion fosters trust and creates an enjoyable environment for her clients to thrive.

One of Keira’s favorite aspects of her role at Wonder is engaging with clients in experiential activities that build authentic connections. Whether playing ping-pong, taking a walk through the park, browsing a bookstore, or collaborating on an art project, she finds joy in creating moments that feel natural and meaningful. These activities allow her to meet clients where they are, fostering relationships that support growth and self-discovery in spaces that feel comfortable and supportive.

Outside of work, Keira enjoys exploring all that Colorado has to offer, from snowboarding and hiking to attending concerts at Red Rocks and cheering on the Broncos and Rockies. She loves traveling to new countries, experiencing different foods and cultures, and spending time at home cooking, reading, and being with loved ones. Keira is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential, and her dedication, warmth, and expertise make her a valuable advocate for the individuals and families she serves.
