Kibret Mooyoung, M.Ed.

Kibret is a School Counselor with advanced mental health certification who has provided comprehensive mental health services to teens, young adults, and families across school-based and community settings. She serves as a CPST/PSR provider and Family Peer Support Service provider, supporting adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and family conflict.

Throughout her work in schools, Kibret has delivered counseling services, collaborated with multidisciplinary teams, and supported students in building coping skills, emotional awareness, and academic resilience. In community mental health settings, she has provided skill-based, strengths-focused interventions that help young people improve daily functioning, strengthen emotional regulation, and apply practical problem-solving strategies in real-life environments.

As a Family Peer Support provider, Kibret works directly with parents and caregivers, offering guidance, psychoeducation, and collaborative problem-solving to strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, and build consistent routines at home. She partners with families to increase understanding of mental health needs, navigate systems of care, and develop practical strategies that support long-term growth and stability.

Her clinical approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered strategies. She focuses on helping clients and families build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change within the context of their relationships and support systems.

Kibret is deeply motivated by the power of feeling heard and supported during difficult seasons. She brings empathy, patience, and a calm, grounded presence to her work, valuing trust built through authenticity, active listening, and consistency.

Aligned with Wonder’s family-centered model of care, Kibret is committed to supporting both individuals and the systems that shape their well-being.

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family, journaling, listening to music, traveling, being near the water, and finding balance through reflection and intentional rest.
