Laurel Mighell

Laurel (she/her) holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a pre-licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts. She has extensive experience supporting teens and family systems across community-based and educational settings.

Laurel has worked with teens and young adults as an academic advisor in an alternative high school, where she partnered closely with students and families to support graduation planning and post-secondary success. She has also served in a Wraparound role, collaborating with families and community systems to help keep youth at home and out of residential care or juvenile detention.

Her approach is client-centered and grounded in unconditional positive regard. Laurel prioritizes creating a space where clients feel safe, supported, and understood—without judgment or pressure to “fix” who they are. She believes in partnership, honesty, and growth, and is comfortable sitting with clients through difficult or uncertain moments. Her work focuses on helping teens understand how their brains work and using existing strengths to create sustainable, real-life solutions.

Laurel is especially passionate about working with teens and values being active and engaged in the community as part of the work. Outside of sessions, she is a former college softball player who loves staying active, spending time outdoors, hiking, and finding great coffee. She enjoys art and photography and values time with her husband, daughter, and two rescue dogs.
