Maile Wicklander, MA, C-IAYT
Maile (she/her) brings a warm, grounded, and collaborative approach to her work with young people and families. With a background in psychology, yoga therapy, and mindfulness, she is passionate about helping individuals develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, and practical tools for navigating life's challenges.
Maile holds a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from San Francisco State University. She is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 500), and a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher through Brown University’s Mindfulness Center. Her additional training includes somatics, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and nervous system regulation.
Throughout her career, Maile has supported teens, young adults, parents, and caregivers through individual and group work, helping them navigate stress, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional challenges. Her approach is mindfulness-based, trauma-informed, and strengths-focused, incorporating mindful movement, breathwork, motivational interviewing, and achievable behavior changes. She believes in meeting clients where they are, recognizing their existing strengths, and helping them create meaningful, sustainable change at their own pace.
Maile was drawn to Wonder’s whole-person, relationship-centered approach and its commitment to individualized support. She strives to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where clients and families feel heard, respected, and empowered. She values connection over perfection and brings curiosity, compassion, and humor to her work.
Outside of work, Maile enjoys spending time with her husband, two young adult children, and their rescue pittie, Rue. She loves cooking, exploring new restaurants, traveling, swimming, reading, knitting, pottery, and spending time in nature. Yoga and meditation remain important parts of her own life, helping her stay grounded and connected.
