Maribel Flores, MS, R-DMT, LCAT

Maribel is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT), a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT), and holds a Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy. She has additional post-master’s certification in Child and Family Therapy as well as training in yoga instruction.

With extensive experience in clinical and community settings, Maribel has supported teens, young adults, parents, and families through individual, group, and family therapy. She has led programs in hospitals, schools, and community organizations, focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, trauma-informed care, and family dynamics. Maribel also facilitates workshops that weave together creative movement, dance therapy, and psychoeducation, offering families meaningful opportunities to strengthen connection and promote mental wellness.

Maribel integrates solution-focused and person-centered approaches, mindfulness, dance/movement therapy, and family systems work into her practice. She values creativity and cultural connection as powerful sources of healing, and she is passionate about helping clients build resilience, strengthen communication, and develop strategies for navigating relational challenges, anxiety, and trauma-related stress. As a parent coach, Maribel draws on her background in family therapy and creative practices to empower parents with tools for communication, stress management, and creating supportive home environments. In addition, she provides individual coaching for teens and young adults, supporting them in building self-confidence, navigating identity development, strengthening decision-making skills, and learning practical strategies to cope with stress, transitions, and relationship challenges. Her coaching approach is tailored to help young people feel seen, heard, and supported as they step into adulthood.

Warm, empathetic, and authentic, Maribel creates a safe space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to recognize their strengths. Her commitment to a strength-based, holistic approach aligns with Wonder’s mission to meet families where they are, honoring individuality while fostering growth and healing.

Outside of her work, Maribel stays creatively energized through dance and training in hip-hop, contemporary, modern, and Afro-Latinx styles. She enjoys spending time with family, engaging in community initiatives, exploring cuisines from different cultures, and nurturing self-care through relaxation, language learning, and time with her family’s dog, Tyson. She values balance, joy, and connection, and brings this spirit into every aspect of her life and work.
