Olivia Alston, LMSW

Olivia is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Master of Social Work, bringing a holistic and compassionate approach to her work with young people and families. Throughout her career, she has supported adolescents, young adults, and parents as they navigate life transitions, process trauma, and strengthen family dynamics. Her experience also includes educating families on topics such as homeownership, financial literacy, and communication, allowing her to understand the intersection of emotional, social, and practical factors that shape everyday life.

Olivia is deeply motivated by a desire to show up for others in meaningful and genuine ways. She has witnessed the powerful impact that thoughtful, individualized support can have on both teens and parents, and she is inspired by the growth, insight, and healing that can occur when families are met with care and effective intervention. This perspective aligns naturally with Wonder’s creative and flexible approach, where there is no one-size-fits-all model and each family is supported in a way that reflects their unique needs.

In her clinical work, Olivia integrates a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, psychoeducation, and techniques such as the Empty Chair. She tailors her approach to each client, helping individuals build insight, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Known for her empathy, authenticity, sincerity, and sense of humor, Olivia creates a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being open and engaged in the therapeutic process.

Olivia is particularly passionate about working with individuals experiencing life transitions, trauma and PTSD, anxiety, low self-esteem, and financial stressors. She approaches both young people and parents with curiosity, consistency, and respect—prioritizing trust, collaboration, and emotional safety. She believes that no individual or family is “broken,” and is committed to creating a nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and strengthen their relationships.

Outside of her professional work, Olivia is actively involved in her community through her church, sorority, and service organizations. She enjoys cooking, entertaining, running 5Ks, swimming, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Coming from a large and diverse family herself, she brings both personal and professional insight into the complexities of family systems, further grounding her work in understanding, connection, and care.
