Shahana Rahman, MBA
Shahana (she/her) is a compassionate and highly skilled professional dedicated to supporting individuals and families on their journey toward emotional well-being and growth. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and as a current PhD student in Marriage and Family Therapy, she is actively working toward licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). Her certifications include Certified Trauma Support Specialist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) practitioner, Mental Health First Aider, and Therapeutic Art Life Coach.
Shahana’s professional expertise lies in creating safe, compassionate spaces for individuals to address emotional and mental health challenges. She integrates her training in classical conditioning, emotional regulation, and trauma recovery to empower clients with tools for resilience and personal growth. She also incorporates art therapy, offering clients a creative outlet to explore emotions, reduce stress, build self-esteem, and enhance self-expression.
Her passion for helping others began during high school while volunteering at the American Red Cross and homeless shelters in New York City when she witnessed the struggles people endured and the emotional toll it took on them. These experiences inspired her to pursue a career as a source of healing and empowerment for those navigating difficult times. At the heart of her work is a commitment to strengthening family systems, fostering healthier communication, and building lasting connections.
What drew Shahana to Wonder is its commitment to empowering young people and families by providing them with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges. She believes that working with families is a powerful way to create lasting change, as it strengthens communication, builds resilience, and fosters healthy relationships within the home. Supporting an individual often means supporting the entire family system, ensuring a foundation of stability, trust, and understanding. Shahana is passionate about creating holistic, personalized approaches that address emotional well-being, resilience, and personal growth, and she sees Wonder as a platform that shares her commitment to nurturing young individuals and their families.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Shahana is a devoted wife and mother of three. She embraces her role as a Den Leader for her daughter’s Cub Scouts, finding joy in mentoring and inspiring young minds. As an artist, she uses her talent with oil and acrylic painting to raise funds for charity.
In her free time, Shahana enjoys traveling, attending live shows, Zumba workouts, diving into DIY projects, and engaging in thought-provoking discussions with her book club. She treasures quality time with family and friends, especially during family game nights, cooking and crafting with her kids, and sharing laughter over life’s simple joys. Her positive energy, empathetic nature, and unwavering dedication make her an invaluable support system for her clients and a cherished member of her community.
