Stacy Shah, MA

Stacy (she/her) is a nationally certified school psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Her professional journey has spanned public schools, colleges, and community mental health centers, where she has provided both counseling and psycho-educational evaluations. These individualized assessments are a cornerstone of her work, helping to uncover learning needs, emotional strengths, and opportunities for growth that can lead to greater confidence and resilience.

Stacy’s therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and respect. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ACT, and person-centered modalities, she tailors her work to each client’s unique strengths and challenges. She especially enjoys working with adolescents and young adults navigating emotional struggles, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, learning differences, and social challenges. Stacy is deeply committed to fostering strong caregiver-child connections and helping families communicate more clearly and thoughtfully.

A native of Trinidad who has called New York home since she was three, Stacy brings warmth, creativity, and a grounded presence to her work. Outside of sessions, she enjoys outdoor activities in the warmer months, experimenting in the kitchen, and caring for her houseplants. Stacy is passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health and creating safe spaces for clients to show up authentically, build coping tools, and move toward a balanced, fulfilling life. She’s genuinely excited to be part of your support team.
